Slavery by Another Name

In the documentary, "Slavery by another name," many pieces of slavery are discussed in the time after the emancipation proclamation has taken into effect. The nation had been adjusting to the way of life that had been introduced to the newly freed african-Americans. In the documentary, a historian talks about how many groups of people wish emancipation never happened and freeing the blacks was a regret, even though the newly freed people had been integrating well. This unfortunate time came with many more unfair laws that made it harder for the freedman to adjust to the long awaited American life. Emancipation was a great first step towards integrating the slaves but more needed to be done in the nation to make them true Americans.
